This policy explains what data Syllablitz ("the app") collects, why, and how it's used. It's written to match exactly what's declared in the app's App Store privacy disclosures — nothing here should surprise you if you've read that.
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Display name | Shown next to your score on level leaderboards | Stored in Apple's CloudKit, tied to your leaderboard entries |
| Score, level code, avatar selection | To populate the leaderboard for the level you played | Stored in Apple's CloudKit |
We do not require an account, email, or any other identifying information to play. The name field is optional and entirely under your control — you choose what to enter.
Syllablitz shows ads through Google's AdMob network. When you allow tracking permission (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), AdMob may collect:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Device advertising identifier | Ad targeting and measurement |
| Approximate location (from IP address) | General regional ad targeting |
| App interaction data (taps, launches) | Ad performance and analytics |
| Ads you've been shown | Ad measurement and frequency |
| Device performance data | Ad display optimization, analytics |
| Crash logs | Diagnosing and fixing technical issues (not tied to your identity) |
If you decline the tracking permission prompt, AdMob still serves ads, but without using your device's advertising identifier for personalized targeting.
Google's own data practices are documented at policies.google.com/privacy.
The "Remove Ads" purchase is processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit. We never see or collect your payment information — Apple handles that directly.
We do not collect your email address, phone number, physical address, contacts, photos, health data, or the actual words you build during gameplay. Only your final score per round is transmitted, never a record of individual words.
Syllablitz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it.
Ad tracking: You can change your App Tracking Transparency choice anytime in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Leaderboard data: Since leaderboard entries aren't tied to an account, we can't look up or delete an individual entry by request — but entries are just a name and score, not personal information beyond what you chose to enter.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
